Tommy joined World Cinema in May 2013 and serves as the Chief Executive Officer where he is responsible for managing the company’s investment and financial strategy and working closely with the executive team to develop long-term value across the company’s partners and customer portfolio.
Prior to World Cinema, Tommy was engaged in the solid waste industry for 23 years. He began his career as part of the founding group of Republic Waste, where he was primarily in charge of investor relations and corporate communications. He then helped in the formation of TransAmerican Waste Industries in 1992 serving as Vice President- Treasurer until the company was sold to Waste Management in 1998. Mr. Fatjo was also a founder of Waste Corporation of America in 1998 and was Senior Vice President- Finance and responsible for acquisitions until the company was purchased by a private equity firm in 2012.
Tommy received a bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and resides in Houston with his wife and three children. Tommy’s hobbies include working out, hunting, fishing and golf.
Robert is a leader in the institutional real estate and technology industries with a 25-year track record. He is committed to helping institutional real estate owners and managers create value from investments in technology by enhancing the customer experience and forming long-lasting partnerships with best of breed technology solutions.
Robert started at Equity Residential in Chicago, IL and led their Strategic Business Development unit where he was responsible for assuring that technology providers helped create the best possible living experience while yielding non-rent sources of income. While at Equity, he gained an understanding of how technology improves the marketability of a real estate and developed a reputation for having a long-term vision and thinking outside the box to create win-win partnerships with technology companies.
He leveraged this experience and reputation to hold senior executive leadership positions at three different public companies and two successful technology start-ups. With laser focus on the client, he is currently the President of World Cinema, Inc. Previous to WCI, he has worked at Boingo Wireless and DISH Network. His consistent focus on leveraging technology and information to benefit commercial enterprise and institutional real estate clients has afforded him industry-wide accolades.
Robert currently resides in Houston.
Barbara started with WCI in February of 2016 as CFO. She manages all processes for financial forecasting and budgets, human resources and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting for the company. She is focused on being a leader to a team of 10, and advising on long-term business and financial planning.
Previous to joining WCI, Barbara specialized in the solid waste industry for over 20 years. She started with Republic Waste, moved to TransAmerican Waste and most recently Waste Corporation of America where she served as the Vice President and Director of Corporate Accounting.
Barbara enjoys fitness, running, and being with her two dogs. She currently residents in Houston and graduated in Sam Houston State University with a focus in accounting.
Nick Jones leads World Cinema through the ever-evolving technology industry with an ongoing series of innovations. Nick oversees operations, including research and development of advanced technology in delivering direct digital and HD television programming.
Nick’s commitment to deliver the highest quality of service and support available has been manifested in World Cinema’s WorldVue Entertainment Platform. He is directly involved with developing new and existing systems while working closely with hardware and service providers such as Dish, LG, Blonder-Tongue, Showtime, HBO and many others.
Previously to World Cinema, Nick ran Schlumberger’s global network. In 2006 Nick founded, NJT, Inc. “Not Just Technology.” NJT, Inc. was Houston’s premier managed IT service firm until he sold it in 2016.
Nick currently resides in Houston.
David Goldstone has served in various executive management positions within the industry for over 20 years. He is the recipient of the prestigious AH&LA’s John Whitaker Award for his dedication and commitment to the hotel industry.
He is an experienced President with a demonstrated history of working in the hospitality industry. Goldstone has a certificate of CHMS, Master Hotel Supplier from AH&LA. Skilled in Marketing Management, Negotiation, Business Planning, Operations and Sales Management. A motivated leader who loves mentoring staff and helping them achieve their goals.
As Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer, Goldstone will help lead World Cinema’s long-term business strategy and client focused approach, which will result in improvement in customer and partner satisfaction as well as help diversify by offering new products to new markets.
Mark Schaps has an extensive background in technology engineering, where he has supported various companies across the metroplex with his industry expertise and attention to detail. Mark began his career journey with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech, majoring in Management Information Systems.
Prior to joining the World Cinema team in 2020, Schaps gained experience in multiple industries as a Network Engineer and Technology Consultant before being promoted to IT Director at a Houston-based mortgage firm. In September 2020, Schaps was brought onto the World Cinema team where he served as our IT Director before being promoted to Vice President of Technology and Service, and later, SVP and Chief Information Officer.
As our Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Schaps will lead World Cinema into the future of business technology. A Houston native, Schaps currently lives in the area with his wife and two young children.
