The orders were issued for the unit to arrive on Saturday, April 11th. General manager, Patrick Sarandrea, reached out to the National Guard back in early March to establish a point of contact should hotel support be needed as part of the pandemic response.

As COVID-19 concerns became more prominent, Patrick received a call from the National Guard inquiring on guest room availability for an extended time. “Initially during this uncertain time, we were going to suspend operations at the Hampton Inn & Suites to complete brand standard upgrades. We planned to combine full operations at our sister property, the Homewood Suites which is directly next door,” Patrick said. “But we could not turn down the opportunity to support this task force and their mission.” Patrick decided to resume operations at the Hampton Inn & Suites for the 427th Brigade Support Battalion which are expected to check out in mid-May.

World Cinema worked with Patrick and his team within a quick 24 hour window to ensure all in-room entertainment was back up and running by the time these 30 soldiers arrived.

World Cinema, Inc. wants to thank Patrick and his staff for providing a solution to these brave men and women. You are making a difference!
